Shane Steichen was instrumental in helping the Philadelphia Eagles reach the Super Bowl as their offensive coordinator, and though they lost, they were impressive on that side of the ball.
Fast forward to today, and after three years, he’s finally showing much of the same as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.
With Daniel Jones at quarterback, Steichen’s team got off to a record-setting start.
“The Colts are the first team in NFL history to score on each of their first 10 offensive possessions of a season,” NFL345 wrote on X.

All of a sudden, being the Colts’ punter looks like an easy gig.
Steichen showed that he could be a very good head coach when he kept the Colts in the playoff mix despite having Gardner Minshew as his starting quarterback for most of his first season.
Then, even when Anthony Richardson struggled last season, the team remained competitive.
Jones has had his fair share of struggles in his career.
Outside of his first season with head coach Brian Daboll, the former New York Giants quarterback didn’t look like a starting-caliber player, although he did possess the physical tools any team would want.
So far with the Colts, the early returns are encouraging.
On the flip side, this might shut the door on Richardson taking the field again for Indianapolis, barring an injury to Jones.
