The Minnesota Vikings will have a new quarterback in Week 3, as veteran Carson Wentz will start in place of injured J.J. McCarthy.
The first-year QB is dealing with an ankle injury and reportedly could be out for multiple weeks.
That will give Wentz the opportunity to make NFL history.
As pointed out by Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, Wentz will become the first quarterback to start at least one game for six different teams in six seasons.
Carson Wentz will start for his 6th team in 6 seasons — which is something no QB in NFL history has ever done.

Wentz started 12 games for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020, his final season with the team that selected him No. 2 overall in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Then, he made 17 starts for the Indianapolis Colts the following season.
The beginning of the end of his time as a full-time starter arrived in 2022 when he started just seven games for the Washington Commanders.
Then, as a backup, he started one game for the Los Angeles Rams in 2023, and another one to fill in for Patrick Mahomes in his lone season with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024.
With the Eagles, Wentz was an NFL MVP candidate until suffering a late-season knee injury during their 2017 Super Bowl campaign.
That speaks volumes about how quickly things can change in this league, and how another chance can be just around the corner.
